The
American Red Cross Congressional Charter mandates two services:
Disaster Services and Armed Forces Emergency Services. All Red
Cross services support our mission of helping families prevent,
prepare for and respond to emergencies.
In
addition to these, the Dallas Area Red Cross offers a wide variety
of humanitarian, educational, and health and safety programs to
the more than 4.1 million people in our twelve-county service
area.
All
American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible
by voluntary donations of time and money from the American
people.

Mardi Gras 2009 was a fabulous event full of dancing, New Orleans-style food - co-chair, Maggie Kipp (left in pink) is a NO native and grew up there. She brought an authentic Mardi Gras air to the event and Katy Sevier, co-chair (left in blue) stepped in with glamour and together, the two created one of the most fun Mardi Gras events so far!
Pamela and Eddie King, King Architectural Metals were honorary chairs and PaperCity is media sponsor.
It's always fun when people are walking around in costumes, masks, an absolutely fabulous band is playing, everyone is dancing - even some members of the band came down onto the dance floor and jammed with the partygoers.
Read more and see more photos at the People Newspapers site here and here. The spelling of Katy Sevier's name is inaccurate, but they're changing it soon!
See below: The peacock lady was a HUGE hit! Now, that's a costume:) |
