The American Red Cross Congressional Charter mandates two services: Disaster Services and Armed Forces Emergency Services. All Red Cross services support our mission of helping families prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

In addition to these, the Dallas Area Red Cross offers a wide variety of humanitarian, educational, and health and safety programs to the more than 4.1 million people in our twelve-county service area.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

Some don't realize the Red Cross not only helps in national disasters, but in local and very personal emergencies, as well. Imagine your house burning down in the middle of the night and you have nowhere to go. The American Red Cross volunteers immediately arrive on the scene with clothing and food, accommodations are arranged and they take care of your family before the sun comes up.

These disasters and others happen every day and the Dallas Area Chapter responds.
