(September 10, 2008) The attire was listed as tropical cool for the men and pool party chic for the ladies at the kick off party for the Mardi Gras Masquerade 2009 committee benefiting the American Red Cross Dallas Area Chapter at the new Park Cities Shelton. The luxurious 7th floor clubroom and pool cabanas were decked out in the florals and leis of a fun party – with gourmet treats provided by City Cafe and a make-your-own-mojito bar sponsored by Bacardi Rum.
“We would have had beach balls and DJ outside, but since the hurricane is predicted to hit sometime tonight, we thought we’d better not have those things blowing off the 7th floor,” said Maggie Kipp, co-chair for Mardi Gras Masquerade 2009 with Kaytie Sevier. “Isn’t it beautiful, though! What a wonderful sunset and a fantastic view!”
The co-chairs thanked Bill Hutchinson, owner of the new Park Cities Shelton, who was decked out in his tropical best, including lei and panama straw hat, for hosting this wonderful kick off event.
Located in the prestigious Highland Park Independent School District, The NEW Park Cities Shelton Luxury Hi Rise built and renovated by owner, Bill Hutchinson (with it's $18 million dollar renovation) was a superbly appointed location for the party.
"It puts you in the center of everything and offers a breathtaking view of the world of trees below and the downtown skyline. I felt like I was on vacation," said Katy.
