The Dallas Museum of Art's largest annual fundraising event, the Beaux Arts Ball was recreated as The Art Ball under the leadership of Chairman and Board of Trustee member Sharon Young, Jennifer Eagle and event designer Todd Fiscus.

Greeting guests at the entrance of the Dallas Museum of Art was a huge white tent outfitted with a blue/green lit dance floor with strands of crystal lights strewn across the ceiling. Dubbed The Aqua Club, sponsored by Angie Barrett, this scene gave hints about the exciting party to come. Later on, servers would pour Wine & Spirits sponsor Moet & Chandon champagne as party goers danced the hours away to the hot music of Tito Puente, Jr. and Sauce long into the night. Everyone had such a wonderful time, Sharon Young, Chairman, gave the OK to keep the party going until 1:30 a.m.

Inspired by the February 2006 exhibition, Lords of Creation: The Origins of Sacred Maya Kingship, this year's Ball, Gods and Kings, took guests to a modern Maya civilization fit for a divine king. They experienced a mélange of fantastic food and had a chance to bid on an array of tantalizing items from the live and luxury auctions.

Funds raised through this event each year support the Museum's exhibitions and provide much needed help for the educational and community outreach programs.
