Background:
The
Ball began in 1961 as the Beaux Arts Ball and was organized by
the Dallas Museum of Art League. Funds raised from The Art Ball
support the Dallas Museum of Art's mission of engaging and educating
the community by financing special exhibitions and educational
programs for children and adults. The Art Ball is one of the largest
museum fundraising events of its kind in the nation.
Supporting:
The
Dallas Museum of Art's Young Artists' Education Program
Education: provides art curriculum funding to area schools. For
several years, the Museum has worked with area schools to provide
funding and education for the development of artwork that is then
displayed and incorporated into décor for the evening of
the Ball. Last year's Young Artist Education Program included:
1. Eleven public and private schools
2. Twenty-nine teachers

The theme of this year’s event is “Land over Sea” to connect with the dramatic and striking
J. M. W. Turner exhibition. “This year’s Ball celebrated the beauty that surrounds us,” said Todd Fiscus, Designer and Creative Director, “and through its exquisite design both tastefully echo the Turner exhibition and reflect the refined taste of Peggy Sewell and the exuberant spirit of her daughter Jacquelin.”
An evening filled with luxury live and silent auctions, stylish décor, lively entertainment, and other rich and splendid offerings, with an exciting after party, The Art Ball: Land over Sea was a wonderful expression of artful entertaining at the Dallas Museum of Art.

For
the event, Art Ball Creative Director, Todd Fiscus created a tribute
to classic Hollywood glamour with a very modern spin.
Guests
entered the party through a white glass tunnel with an illuminated
path of yellow glowing lights.
Once
inside, guests were treated to spectacular auction boutiques created
by some of Dallas' most innovative style-setters: David Sutherland
(Design), Jim Strong (Travel), Heidi Dillon (Fashion), Lucy Wrubel
and Faisal Halum (Mens), Merry Vose and Holly Jonsson (Childrens). |
