SocialWhirl.com is honored to sponsor the 23rd Annual Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism “Diamonds In The Rough” Home Page

Ongoing until December 31, 2011: Fund-A-Cause

The Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism, a three day event spanning the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, was held September 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2011, chaired by Heather Russell and Gina Marx.

The Roundup for Autism, founded in 1988, is solely designed to raise funds for the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas (ATC) and has raised over $3 million dollars, making it one of the largest autism-related fundraising events in the State of Texas.

The theme of the 23rd Annual event, ”Diamonds in the Rough,” is indicative of the principle that each individual with autism is uniquely spectacular and extraordinary.

"Diamonds in the Rough" was the theme of the black-tie gala co-chaired by Dee Carter and Sharon Folsom.Photos by Photos by John Strange, Tim Valis and Steve Duffy

A long-time supporter of Roundup for Autism, Robert attends each year and donates proceeds from his 2001 book "The Cowboy and His Elephant," about how he raised a sickly baby elephant to dance and play a piano, to ATC. He is the original Marlboro Man in the commercials (for 12 years). http://www.gazette.com/articles/norris-4921-ranch-land.html

Fund-A-Cause: Special thanks to the Boone Pickens Foundation – A Communities Foundation of Texas Fund, for their support of the 2011 Fund-A-Cause to expand diagnostics, speech, physical, occupational and applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy services for children with - or suspected of having - autism, with a generous challenge grant to help the Center meet its goal of $350,000 to increase valuable, life-changing services.

Through 2011, this Fund-A-Cause provides an opportunity for donors to give to a designated project at ATC. Gifts are tax-deductible and will be given to the ATC, in its entirety, as a designated donation towards the 2011 Fund-A-Cause: Diagnostics service expansion.
