First
Lady of Texas, Anita Perry
Anita Perry is a proud native Texan from Haskell. She has a long-standing
commitment to and passion for health care issues, which have helped
guide her in her role as first lady.
Inspired
by her father's life-long service as a family physician, Mrs.
Perry spent 17 years working in the health-care field and holds
a bachelor's degree in nursing from West Texas State University,
now West Texas A&M University, and a master's degree from
the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
The
First Lady is also a dedicated representative of Texas tourism,
is active in the historic preservation of Texas' cultural landmarks
and communities, and is a firm believer in empowering Texas women.
Together with her husband Gov. Rick Perry, she developed the renowned
Texas Conference for Women as the premier educational and networking

What
better way to celebrate brilliance than to host a luncheon
with Texas First Lady Anita Perry.
The
April 24th event was the much-anticipated Austin luncheon
for the 2007 Brilliantly You Gala. The gala will take place
September 14, 2007, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
Women
That Soar, the company that produces Brilliantly You, has partnered
with bRILLIANT magazine to host the Austin luncheon. The purpose
is to bring awareness about the gala and Dallas Dress for Success.
Dress
for Success is a non-profit organization that supports women
who are economically and socially challenged. Their mission
is to help put the women back into the work place and 100% of
the proceeds from the gala will benefit the organization.
