Balenciaga
and His Legacy: Haute Couture from the Texas Fashion Collection
is the
first U.S. exhibition in more than 20 years of the pioneering
fashion designs of Cristóbal Balenciaga. It is at Southern
Methodist University's Meadows Museum through May 27.
The
exhibit, a collaboration between Meadows Museum at SMU and the
Texas Fashion Collection, School of Visual Arts at the University
of North Texas, Denton is a stroll down memory lane.
Dallas
favorite stage designer Winn Morton has recreated an opulent setting
for the exhibition, including a monumental backdrop evoking the
Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles, flanked by architectural
elements that recall the original House of Balenciaga.

The
invitation for the exclusive gala premiere came as Dr. and Mrs.
Mark A. Roglán invited guests for champagne and wine, cocktail
buffet. Modern Luxury Dallas was presenting sponsor of this gala
premiere event.

The
black tie event was a resounding success. Fashions
by Cristobal Balenciaga and other couture designers are featured
at the exhibit, which runs through
May 27, 2007.

Morton created the exhibit's "Palace of Versailles"
backdrop pictured above.
