Event Purpose:           The 1st annual Callier Cares Luncheon will honor our dear friends and treasured community leaders, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Altshuler, in the inaugural presentation of the Ruth and Dr. Kenneth Altshuler Callier Care Award. Through the Altshulers’ benevolence, the Callier Care Fund was created to benefit patients of all ages who would otherwise be unable to afford clinical care, promising young students who require financial support, and rising young faculty researchers in search of start-up funding for important projects. Proceeds from this event will contribute directly to patient care and ensure that Callier can continue its legacy as a national resource for children and adults with speech, language and hearing disorders.

About Callier Center for Communication Disorders: The Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas improves the ability of over 4,000 patients with speech, language and hearing disorders to connect with the world.

At the Center’s heart is a time-honored commitment to our three-part mission: to provide outstanding, leading-edge clinical services, to conduct meaningful and innovative basic and applied research into new treatments and technologies, and to train the next generation of caring clinical providers.

Our exemplary clinical care programs range from autism spectrum disorder (now affecting one in 110 American children) to audiology and speech-language pathology services, from cochlear implants to early child development. For nearly half a century, the Callier Center has been honored to be able to transform lives because of the generosity of our donors.
