Celebrated Weekends: The Stars' Guide to 50 of the Most Exciting Destinations in the World by Mark Seal
This original travel book takes readers to the top cities in the world with very special tour guides-the top celebrities of movies, television, and music who love their hometowns. Readers of American Way magazine, the in-flight publication of American Airlines, will be familiar with these famous tour guides. Over 300 celebrities share their favorite restaurants, hot spots, shopping, hotels, cultural events, entertainment, and attractions. Some of the celebrities and cities featured are Ashley Judd (Nashville), Hugh Grant (London), Jamie Lee Curtis (Los Angeles), Dan Ackroyd (Toronto), and Jackie Chan (Hong Kong)- and that is just the beginning.

All the major travel destinations will be featured with current reviews, directions, and suggestions for how every traveler can live like their favorite Hollywood star-if only for the weekend

"Be A Tourist In Your Own Town"
Sometimes we can get away for a day, weekend or more. It just feels better to get out of town with the family, friends or alone, celebrate our relationships, see new vistas, learn about different cultures and rejuvenate our soul.

Vacation in your own back yard
Then again, like someone recently said, due to his wife's illness, they would not be taking a vacation this summer, so he decided to bring vacation to his home by redoing the back yard. He brought in tropical plantings, including a banana tree, bouganvilla, new chaise lounges, tropical umbrellas and outdoor cocktail tables for each chair, Jamaican music, reggae, jazz, monogrammed beach towels, robes, new outdoor tableware and swimming pool floats. Set it all out by the pool, made some mojitos and they not only had a mini-vacation at home, but can have one whenver the mood hits.

This series celebrates getting out to see our own towns. So many new venues are opening and new exhibits are everywhere. Then there are the things we've driven by every day going to work and never stopped to see. Take the time now. Be a tourist in your own town.
