JUNIOR LEAGUE OF DALLAS ROCKS THE STARS AT ANNUAL BALL
Rick Springfield Entertains as JLD Honors the Generosity and Commitment of Its Sponsors

Dallas, TX: More than 750 guests rocked the night away at the 48th annual Junior League of Dallas Ball on Saturday, February 20 at the Hilton Anatole.  This star-studded event recognized the many Patrons, Sponsors and Supporters who have generously donated to the JLD's Community Service Fund throughout the 2009-2010 year.

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, Rick Springfield, kept the crowd on its feet with hits like "Jessie's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers," and Time Machine kept the party going late into the night with its rockin' covers of 80's tunes. VIP guests posed for photos with Rick Springfield and enjoyed sweet treats like Pecan Deluxe cake balls, Mini-Nothing Bundt Cakes, and late-night pizza, sliders and truffle-covered French fries in the Green Room, sponsored by Dallas Southwest Osteopathic Physicians.

Partygoers also enjoyed a cocktail reception sponsored by PlainsCapital Bank.  An after-dinner auction featured a guitar donated, decorated and signed by Amanda Dunbar of Precious Rebels and signed by Rick Springfield, along with an onstage serenade by the rock star. Dunbar's current collection, entitled "Precious Rebels," features fully playable art guitars clad in Swarovski crystal; her creations have been sold by Neiman Marcus and used onstage by bands like Nickelback.  "We were thrilled to have such a great turnout at this year's event," said Angela Nash, Ball Chair. "It means a lot that the League has so many generous sponsors who help us meet our commitments to the Dallas community each year."

Rock the Stars Sponsors included Dallas Southwest Osteopathic Physicians, PlainsCapital Bank, Park Place Dealerships, Andrews Kurth LLP, Rekerdres Insurance Company, GattiTown, Pecan Deluxe, Starpower, D Magazine, The Container Store, Precious Rebels, Diageo, Ketel One, Rosenblum Cellars, Mary Kay Inc., Gavos+Helms Designs, Inc. and others.

"We continue to be so grateful to our wonderful partners throughout the Dallas community, and the Ball is our way of honoring them for their contributions," said Meredith Camp, JLD President.  "Thanks to our talented, hard-working Fund Development team, it was truly a memorable evening."

The JLD also honored its Sponsors with several parties leading up to the big event. On Wednesday, February 3, Sterling, Crystal and Platinum Sponsors were invited to an intimate dinner in celebration of their continued support of the League. Hosted by Nick & Sam's Steakhouse and Chef Samir Dhurandhar, with contributions from Capital Advisors, Allen Brothers, FreshPoint, Central Market and Glazer's, the JLD leadership team was able to show its appreciation with an amazing four course meal and a heartfelt toast to say "thank you" to its sponsors for their help in supporting the League's Community Program.

On February 10, Sharif & Munir Uncustomary Custom Homes opened the doors of an amazing home off Kelsey Drive to allow the JLD to celebrate the generous Sponsors of the 2009-2010 Community Service Fund.  At the reception, sponsored by Bank of Texas, more than 200 guests enjoyed touring the spacious home and munching on delicious bites from Nick & Sam's. With additional contributions from Gold Crown Valet, Paper & Chocolate, Central Market, Oh Sugar!, Pepsi Co. and Republic Distributing, it was yet another night to remember.
