     KidneyTexas, Inc.'s Advisory Board chairman and former president, Charlotte Kimberlin, was announced as the Honorary Chairman for Stepping Out In Style, the KidneyTexas, Inc. 2011 Fashion Event and Luncheon at a party hosted by TOOTSIES recently.

 

          Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while previewing fall fashions by Lafayette 148. Megan Meyercord, President, KidneyTexas, Inc. was joined by Alison Volk, Director of Business Development for TOOTSIES, as they thanked Nerissa Von Helpenstill, Store Director, TOOTSIES, for their generous donation of 15% of the evening's sales to KidneyTexas, Inc.

 

Stepping Out In Style Chairmen, Pat McDonough and Mariannne Wilshusen, thanked committee members and sponsors for their continued support, including Looper Reed, KidBiz/The Biz, The Plaza at Preston Center and media sponsors Modern Luxury Dallas and Park Cities News/The Waters Family.

 

         Stepping Out In Style, the KidneyTexas, Inc. 2011 Fashion Event and Luncheon happens on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Brook Hollow Golf Club. With fashions by TOOTSIES, KidBiz/The Biz . . . and production by Jan Strimple, it promises to be another memorable event. Friends and sponsors of KidneyTexas, Inc. along with kidney recipients and donors, will model alongside the professional models. Children's Medical Center, Camp Reynal and PKD Foundation are the 2011 beneficiaries.


          Individual tickets start at $150. Seats at $250 and above have increased benefits. Table Hosts and Underwriters benefits include preferred seating, special program visibility and more. MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of KidneyTexas, Inc. is to provide funding to improve the methods of treatment, the search for a cure and prevention of kidney disease and other kindred or contributory diseases; and to develop more adequate provision for the care of persons suffering from such diseases.

 

STATISTICS: Debilitating kidney diseases impact approximately 20 million people in the United States today. Groups at high risk include African Americans, Hispanics, senior citizens and people with diabetes. In Texas, there are over 30,000 people on dialysis and 4,000 on a transplant list. The number of patients on dialysis is anticipated to double this decade.

 

HISTORY: Since 1999, the dedicated volunteers of KidneyTexas, Inc. have worked in tandem with our generous underwriters to raise over $2.2 million for local efforts to improve the ability to diagnose and manage kidney disease.
