With his tangerine cashmere sweater and beaming smile, I thought this guy would be too good to be true! He is true...and contagious with his bright attitude on decor.  His outlook on life is refreshing! When asked if there was a huge amount of pressure to always be happy and be ON ... he honestly said, "Yes."

Although he is always joyful, he did admit to the craziness of being a company owner and taking care of 100 employees with 12 stores to oversee. He then quickly added that every day is beautiful, and he loves his life.

Jonathan Adler  (red sweater)  and Lauren Knight.

Life partner, Simon Doonan, creative fashion director for Barney's NY, gave forwarding comments in his new book called My Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living, "We are each other's favorite person!"

Here is how they decompress:
Liberace, their Norwich Terrier, Simon and Jonathan all unwind after a crazy day with heated ping pong competitions in their NYC apartment. That is how they release the stress of the day, if they have any at all. He and Simon are truly the mushy happy couple.

Good Design Creates Good Moods! His outstanding Elements of Happy Chic is punchy with humor that we all need a taste of. We miss Jonathan and Todd Oldham in Bravo's Top Design; Todd gave him a break at the beginning of his career by selling his beautiful pottery designs in his shops. Jonathan started pottery designs at a very young age, and he was never discouraged in his career path.  He opened his first store in SoHo in 1998. Many years later, we now have a design guide book that not only teaches us to live in a techni-colored world but to embrace thinking outside the box.

We chatted about all of the Dallas connections who live in New York now and whom he calls friends. Along with Todd Oldham, there is Lela Rose and the numerous debutantes who have given NYC a taste of southern hospitality. He went on and on about how much he loves Dallas people.

Jonathan said he hand picked NEST to sell his wares because they understand his philosophy on groovy designs. If you are feeling a little stressed during the holiday season, My Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living is a must for gift giving! To view Jonathan's collection of home decor furnishings, visit NEST at 6731 Snider Plaza, Dallas, Texas 75205, 214.373.4444 or www.nestdallas.com.
