About the Agency:
The proceeds of the Expanding Worlds Luncheon directly benefit Special Care & Career Service’s Early Childhood Intervention and Supported Employment Services programs. Your support of our agency and its two progressive, State recognized, programs for children and adults with disabilities, will make it possible to expand our much-needed programs, and extend the range of our outreach.
Our Services

Early Childhood Intervention. This extensive program helps babies and toddlers, birth to age three, who have developmental delays and/or disabilities reach their maximum potential to be successful in school. After an in-depth screening and evaluation process, experts provide speech, physical and occupational therapies and instruction to children and their primary caregivers either in children’s homes or daycare facilities.

Supported Employment Services. This program matches adults with intellectual disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and traumatic brain injury to good jobs that meet the needs of employers. Our thorough assessment and job matching, on-the-job training and unique continued support, are the reasons our Supported Employment clients experience high job retention rates. Fifty-nine percent of our clients have been on the job for five years or more.

Important Facts:     Over the past eight years A Special Evening has raised more than $1.8 million and allowed us to continually expand our programs. Our programs are setting new growth records every year and we continue to gain state and national recognition for our innovative programming and training. The proceeds from A Special Evening directly benefit Special Care & Career Service’s Supported Employment Services (SES) and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) programs.  SES helps capable people with cognitive disabilities (such as Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Autism, and others) train for, find and keep good jobs.  Our ECI program provides teams of specialists to work with babies and toddlers with developmental disabilities and delays to give them a greater chance for success in school.
