Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus:
A bold decision was made over twenty years ago by a group of dedicated
musicians and music-lovers, under the leadership of Founder, Gregory
Heltman, to establish a professional symphony orchestra in Santa Fe,
a community that was already nationally recognized as a Mecca for
the visual and performing arts. Even today, it is remarkable that
a city of this size can boast a full-size symphony orchestra. The
Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus has made a continuing commitment
to inspire and inform audiences of all ages and cultures in Santa
Fe and beyond, by offering concert programs of outstanding symphonic
and choral music as well as education and outreach programs for adults
and schoolchildren. The Symphony is recognized as a lively, community-focused
musical organization performing its regular subscription series at
the 800 seat capacity Lensic Performing Arts Center. It is one of
two fully professional symphony orchestras in the state, and is the
largest symphonic organization in Santa Fe. http://www.sf-symphony.org/index.htm
