University Park Preschool Association kicked off their 8th annual Spring Market with a spring fashion show at Tootsies hosted by Century BANK. The runway fashions featured the latest from Pucci, Robert Rodriguez, Cavalli, RED Valentino, Nanette Lepore and more. The community joined in and enjoyed an evening of fashion, appetizers and shopping. Shoppers were treated to 15% off purchases made that evening. Tootsies is located at The Plaza at Preston Center, 8300 Preston Road.

8th Annual Spring Market:
Mark your calendars for April 2nd and join us at the University Park Preschool Association (U.P.P.A.) 8th Annual Spring Market, hosted by Allie Beth Allman and co-chaired by Jessie O'Brien and Ashley Terrell. Stacy Kelly is chair-elect.

This is the first year the Market has been hosted by a community sponsor and the U.P.P.A. thanks Allie Beth Allman for their generous support. All Spring Market proceeds will be donated to University Park Elementary School. The Market is one of many efforts to generate funds for HPISD schools due to the financial shortfall caused by Robin Hood. To date, the Spring Market has raised over $176,000 for the school.

The 2008 Spring Market begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m. at University Park Elementary School, 3503 Amherst (on Lovers Lane west of Hillcrest.) We are pleased to welcome over 100 vendors this year. Nearly half of these vendors are new to the Spring Market and many offer items not available in the DFW area. The Market features unique items for the home, children's clothing, jewelry, gifts, an outdoor cafe from 11-2, and incredible gift baskets to be raffled off. This is a perfect opportunity to stock up on birthday gifts, end-of-year teacher goodies, Mother's Day treats, or even a little something for yourself. We won't tell. Promise!

UPPA Spring Market Goes Green!
Also new this year is a sponsor for the shopping bags. We welcome Ecologie bags, a green shopping bag alternative that sells on line. The eco-chic bag in the "Hamptons" design sports a springtime fashion-friendly pink and lime green and was introduced at the Tootsies Fashion Show. The bags will be available at the Spring Market. Check it out at http://www.ecologiebags.com/store_item.fsp?id=113104

From the website: Eco Fact: 80% of paper bags end up in landfills where they do not get enough light and oxygen to biodegrade. It's eco-smart and cool to shop with your own Ecologie Bags. They are a tasteful, smart solution. Hamptons bags are great-looking, functional, lightweight, roomy durable bags that are made of a soft unique fabric that is breathable, washable and hypo-allergenic.

Spring Market tickets are available at the door for $7 or in advance at Tom Thumb for $5 (Snider Plaza, H.P. Village and Preston Center locations only).

The U.P.P.A. is an organization open to families with children ages birth through kindergarten, who live in the University Park Elementary School District. The organization's goal is to provide parent education on children's growth and development, socialization among children and among parents, and fundraising support for University Park Elementary School.

Dallas-based Allie Beth Allman & Associates is known as the premier residential real estate firm in Dallas, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Uptown and Turtle Creek.
