2009 Spring Market “In with the Old and the New”

The UP Preschool Association (UPPA) will once again present their annual Spring Market on Wednesday, April 8 from 8am – 6pm at the UP Elementary School located at 3505 Amherst Avenue in Dallas.  

As one of the only Spring Markets in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area, the UPPA Spring Market has set its sights on a bigger, bolder market that still honors its humble origins.  Historically, the Spring Market has housed 88 vendors featuring amazing products such as: Brushes & Bows, Dolls by Doris, The Pajama Princess, 4 Home, Full of Grace, Blair B Designs, Ballard & Blakely, Green Living (Park Cities Residents), Claudia's Collectibles, Erin's Earrings, The Write Designs, DixieBelle Gifts, GiGi and Company, The Rhinestone Cowgirl, Lucy N Coco, Accesorize (Park Cities Resident), Homemade Gourmet, Posh, Shelbi's Stuff, Suzana Gordon Creative Designs (Park Cities Resident), and The Hollywood Ranch.  

This year, the Spring Market will be adding an additional vendor tent with larger booths that will allow more than 100 vendors to participate in the market.  The Spring Market’s Vendor solicitation campaign is in full swing and actively looking for new vendors!  

This year’s Spring Market is also reaching out to partner with businesses in the community for Sponsorship opportunities.  Returning sponsors include:

The Spring Market is the UPPA’s only annual fundraiser.  This one-day of shopping fun and mingling with friends is normally attended by 700 people.  Approximately 100 vendors with unique jewelry, children’s, women and men’s clothing, artwork, home wares and other items, fill the gym and outdoor venues selling their products and services.  Food and gourmet baked goods are also provided from local restaurants. 

The Spring Market, hosted by the UPPA, is just one of the many efforts to raise funds for the HPISD schools due to the financial situation caused by Robin Hood.  All proceeds raised from this one-day market are donated to the University Park Elementary School.

The 2008 Spring Market made a record-breaking contribution of $50,000 to UP Elementary. This money was gifted for technology and classroom materials for children at UP Elementary.

The University Park Preschool Association
The University Park Preschool Association is a subsidiary organization of the University Park Elementary PTA.  Its objective is to educate parents on the growth and development of children and to promote socialization among parents and preschoolers within the University Park Elementary School district via monthly meetings, playgroups, children’s parties, social functions and fundraising events that benefit University Park Elementary School.
