Where
is Victory Park?
|
The
screens and many new restaurants are located in the plaza just
outside the American Airlines Center's south entrance facing
Olive Street.
Just
across the street is the W Hotel, ghostbar, Craft, LFT and an
entirely new restaurant/retail complex. There is valet and public
parking everywhere. Just drive around the block and you'll find
it.

As
the forecourt to the American Airlines Center and the central
core of the Victory Park $3-billion, 75-acre district, millions
of people are expected to experience this gallery each year.
The
opportunity to reach such a large and varied audience - many of
whom might never be exposed to this art medium were it not for
Victory Media Network®'s location - as well as the ability
to add dimension and movement to pieces with the dynamic boards,
has brought widespread interest from both artists and patrons
from around the world.
One
of the most notable additions to primary content is "Revolutions"
a groundbreaking work commissioned by Target that premiered at
the launch. It is mesmerizing.
Once you think you know where it's going, it goes somewhere else.

This
documentary of art in progress juxtaposes two very different and
unique styles of graffiti art. The piece opens with Kofie One
(www.keepdrafting.com)
and Mr Jago (www.mrjago.com)
emerging somewhere between sky and earth - on a vast set of wet,
semi-reflective paving.
They
come upon two monolithic glowing cubes that are soon to become
their next canvases. What quickly materializes is beautiful, poetic
art, seemingly lit from within. Finally these two seemingly disparate
works begin to merge, symbolizing a coming together of two personalities,
two cultures and of technical and non-technical. What remains
is a unified and one-of-a-kind piece of art.
We
are researching exactly which pieces are pictured on this page.
We'll gladly give credit and links.

"Revolutions"
joins the debut of original content from Bank of America, the
official bank of Victory Park and sponsor of Victory Media Network®,
and "Ring of Fire", a dazzling new work commissioned
by Victory Park. Renowned installation artist Jennifer Steinkamp's
(http://jsteinkamp.com)
is choreographing an intricate collage of floral images inspired
by the seasonal gardens of the Dallas Arboretum. A collaboration
with composer Jimmy Johnson, the five-minute piece will incorporate
a vivid palette of flowers in constant motion.
133bpm
also introduced and awarded a selection of pieces in the categories
of digital art, visual storytelling and film shorts that will
become ongoing content for Victory Media Network®.

A
prestigious jury including
Cindy Rachofsky,
Gail Sachson,
Roger Horchow,
Jennifer
Steinkamp, Nancy Whitenack and Liener Temerlin selected winners
from nearly 400 submissions entered by artists from around the
world. Featured winning artists included
Gary Breslin, Zach Parrish, Sean Capone,
Bill Domonkos and
Till Nowak.
We've
asked VMN if there is going to be scheduled showings of the winning
works and they're looking into doing just that.
When
it happens, we'll publish the information on our eBuzzNewsletter
and you'll find the link here.

Victory
Media Network® (www.victorymedianetwork.com),
the world's largest permanent outdoor digital art gallery, launched
in Dallas' Victory Park (www.victorypark.com)
district. The public evening debut of this landmark plaza venue, which
has been favorably compared to a cross between New York's Lincoln
Center and Times Square benefitted the city's Booker T. Washington
High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
The
ticketed event entitled "133bpm" was as a multi-sensory
showcase and highlighed installation components that include the most
sophisticated LED display, sound and lighting technology currently
available as well as custom movable screens totaling approximately
4,600 square feet. Acclaimed London-based audiovisual artists Addictive
TV (www.addictive.com),
who have been championing visual music and the art of the VJ for more
than a decade, headlined.
